Maybe having a desk like this would make me study more.

Still alive + Therapy dogs

My friend's friend brought her big silver lab over while a group of us were doing some light reading on the Commerce Clause, and we slobbered all over the poor guy.
via i can haz cheezburger
We heard the school brings a couple of therapy dogs to campus every year during finals "to keep us sane", but that the dog:human ratio isn't very good, so we've already decided to hide dog treats in our pockets to give us a leg up. Law school makes people crazy.

Saturday Special + Autumn is here

It's been a very, very long week, and I definitely have the bruises (both literal and figurative) to show for it. I hope this weekend lasts for a while longer.

Sunday Special + An amazing week ahead

So my best and worst suspicions are confirmed: law school is definitely an adventure. More on this later when I can be coherent about this, but I'm glad it's lazy Sunday after such an eventful week.

Lady Danville + The Last of Summer

The flipped-over van on their album cover is from an accident they had while touring. via Lady Danville
Now that I have around a month left before starting law school, I've been trying to cram as many local events as I can before leaving. I was lucky enough to see Lady Danville play at Grand Performances this past Sunday, and it felt like I was experiencing the epitome of a SoCal summer. The weather was the perfect amount of sunny, the venue was beautiful, the drinks were plentiful, and the talented band (from Los Angeles!) had a sound that was just too easy to love. I'm going to miss this place.

Weekend update + The City

I'm doing it! A friend and I are driving up to Nor-cal at the crack of dawn today to visit college buddies and law schools. I probably won't be able to update the blog until Wednesday or Thursday, but I would love to know how your holiday weekend is going. Until then, continue having a good one.☺

Cheese + Lobster

Hello hello! I said I would write about my experiences visiting schools in the Midwest and East Coast around a month ago and completely...did not. As a weak substitute, here are some pictures taken on my phone from the last couple of months. Several highlights for me include the unexpected beauty of Madison, the lobster in Boston, visiting Rhode Island for the first time, partying with a friend in New York City, and always, always, enjoying the creations of culinary artists all over. I also hope you noticed the cupcakes that my good friend from roxpaperscissors made. What a whoopensocker.

Chocolate + Stress

-eating. It's the middle of the night, and I just devoured a whole bar of Toblerone while trying to decide whether or not to send in my deposits for law school. How do you guys deal with stress? I have a friend who can't eat when she's stressed -- if only I were so lucky.

This is uncool. Baylor Law School accidentally released the names, GPA, LSAT score, home address, undergraduate institution, scholarship offers, and ethnicity of every undecided admitted student to every undecided admitted student. This about sums up my view on Channing Tatum. He has pretty muscles, but zero acting skills, so I did not understand why he keeps getting these leading man roles. Plus, he's been casted in a dozen of big-shot movies. And has a Steven Soderbergh movie coming up about HIS life. He's thirty-one. But these pictures make him so likeable. And he sounds hard-working and respectful. I guess I'm becoming a fan too. (via Lainey Gossip)

Miles + Miles

I am about to embark on a law school visiting expedition. Starting from this Wednesday night, I'm heading pretty much straight from work to the airport to visit Wisconsin and will get back just in time for Monday. Following that, I plan to visit San Diego, go back to work, and then head over to Boston and New York for more law-related festivities. I'm also going to have to fit in watching The Hunger Games somewhere in all of this because you know...I've always been big on managing my priorities. It's going to be a tiring two weeks, but I'm excited to explore new places, eats lots of cheese and lobster (maybe not together), and visit/crash at my long-suffering cousins' and friends' places.
via Pretty Peach Peonies
As a result, the posts these couple of weeks might be on the skimpy side, but I'll try to write ahead of time. Focusing on Wisconsin, I'm planning on visiting the lakes, state parks and gardens, breweries and pubs, local shops, dairy farms, and of course, the school. I hope it goes well, and I'll have lots to update you on!
