So my best and worst suspicions are confirmed: law school is definitely an adventure. More on this later when I can be coherent about this, but I'm glad it's lazy Sunday after such an eventful week.
I have succumbed to the culture around here and got a bike to get to class! It has a cute basket for my heavy casebooks. And on the way, I saw these cool-looking domes. Davis hippies. (via Davis Wiki)

I definitely agree that changing one thing can lead to better habits all around. (via Refinery29)

Despite recently discovering how terrible colored jeans look on me, I want a pair of these. Terribly. (via Arnsdorf)
I watched Moonrise Kingdom the other day and loved it. Like any other Wes Anderson movie, it was whimsical, witty, and visually gorgeous. It was also a bit sweeter than most of his movies and had some of my favorite actors. (via Youtube)
Speaking of fantastical movies, the trailer for Oz. (via Youtube)
I don't usually think of good service as the norm or even a necessity at a KBBQ restaurant, but Genwa had such great service that I feel obligated to point it out. (via Yelp)
Restaurant week is happening in LA for the next two weeks! (via dineLA)
And to offset that cost, freebies are happening everywhere. (via LA Times)
Happy National French Fry Day everyone. Have a great weekend!
I've been making piñatas this past year to give as presents because they're personalized, doable while watching a movie, cost-effective, delicious, and somehow still enjoyable to destroy every single time. That's why I totally laughed when I saw this picture. How gruesome. And accurate.
Even though I'm constantly amazed by DIYs, I don't try most of them because I think it'd be cheaper/faster just to buy the item in question. However, I happened to have a pair of white canvas shoes and some nail polish, so I thought this would be fun to try.
It took around 30 minutes, and I'm happy with the results. It definitely freshened up the shoes I don't wear anymore. The only thing I would advise you to do is to get a cheap bottle of nail polish because you will end up using around half the bottle. I chose a "Taxi-yellow".
And also the continuing evolution of humans. (via mental floss)
Want everything on this page, except for the leather shorts. I would not be able to pull those off...especially after a long, hot day. (via wit + delight)
In the 90's, the clothing store Express had a "street slang" guide for its employees. Dialtone. (via The Awl)
Summer is starting, and it's a long weekend! We're celebrating my
brothers' birthday, and I'm also thinking about making a last-minute
drive up to San Francisco and Davis to visit more law schools. What are
your plans?
Spring seems to be having its last hurrah with all these festivals popping up everywhere, so make sure to visit at least one before they're over! Then again, there are always summer festivals to look forward to.
In that vein, I think these braided hairstyles would be perfect for festival-goers. And everyone else. (via Refinery29)
This is interesting. A George Mason University professor encourages his students to fabricate stories about serial killers, beer, and pirates. They successfully conned people on Wikipedia, but were exposed by the almighty reddit. (via the Atlantic)
I didn't think I could ever appreciate a critique of modern art, but this explanation of Tobias Wong's work makes sense. I just thought gold made everything shinier. (via The Fox is Black)
Cannes sounds like so much fun this time of year. I wish they would stop wasting linen napkins too. (via Lainey Gossip)
This colorful blog, mini-eco, is pretty darn awesome. Her projects make even simple origami look sophisticated. The links below the pictures lead to her fabulous templates and tutorials.
More lists! Here's one of animals. Enough said. (via Buzzfeed)
A high school's gross attempt at a prank involves kids making out with their parents. (The disturbing part is that the parents are in on it.) I don't consider myself a prude and would be fine with a light peck, but some of these moms and dads are agressive. This is wrong, people. (via Gawker)
And to balance that out, take a look CaptunaAmerica and Tony Shark. You read correctly. (via Tofu Matador)
My friend is talented. Check out her bassoon quartet's latest video!
What are you up to this holiday weekend? If you don't celebrate Christmas, is it frustrating that almost everything is closed? Regardless of what you end up doing, I hope you have a heartwarming, holiday weekend with friends and family♥.
"Hey Girl." The Ryan Gosling craze is so silly, but I might be a supporter of it. He's adorable. (via Apartment Therapy)
I watched 50/50 a couple days ago and thought it was cute the whole way through. Here's a link for the movie, but erm... don't profit off it and all that. (via Ufliq)
L.A. Hotspots. Entering a bar through a wardrobe seems nifty. (via Refinery29)
Speaking as someone who likes to spend a looong time wrapping presents, I'd say this looks like a lot of effort. Still, it's beautiful, and now I really want to make some poppy gift toppers. (via Creature Comforts)
Also, DIY candy lights! Why are people so creative? (via Oh Happy Day!)
Another Community that is both sweet and streets ahead. I'd stock my fridge with Eugenio's Four-Cheese Pizza if we could all have #sixseasonsandamovie. (You can watch it on Hulu!)
I don't watch The Sing-Off regularly, but I had the chance to go to the taping for the finale earlier this week, and this song has been stuck in my head ever since:
The wind knocked a branch down and broke our trellis, but I've been enjoying the wind anyway. Hope you have a breezy one!
